Career Direction Assessment Tool

The Interpretive Report generated will provide details about the best possible Career choices for the student.

MyVector is a career assessment tool for school / college going children based on the principle that a right - fit career choice for an individual is based on the correct match between the personality and the aptitude of the person.

The MyVector interpretive report should be taken as a strong indicator of a person’s aptitude and further counselling and exploration needs to be undertaken to get the full benefit of the exercise.

Had they not followed their dreams

  • It is an assessment tool for students, based on three components – Interests, Inner directional ability and Values. This assessment is designed based on Holland’s theory, behavioral competency theories and psychometric assessment of values.

  • It is one composite test for students from standard IX to Graduation. The assessment results are to be used as indicators and not taken as the last word. One other factor that plays a huge role in career success is skills which is an acquired trait and improves with practice. So if the results of the assessment indicate that a person can be successful in engineering that does not mean that the person necessarily has to become an engineer.

  • myVector assessment is a psychometric test of approximately 30 minutes, that requires no preparation.

  • Most individuals can be described by one or more of the six personality types popularly known as R-I-A-S-E-C.

Corresponding to R-I-A-S-E-C there are six work environments and that people seek out work environments that match their personality types. The better the match individuals make, the more satisfied they will be with their job.

Making Vocational Choices

In the mid 1950s American scientist Dr John L. Holland (Making Vocational Choices: A Theory of Vocational Personalities and Work Environments (Holland, J.L., 1997)) came up with a hexagonal structure of interests.

Six Types

According to Dr Holland, there are six vocational personality types. These six types are Realistic, Investigative, Artistic, Social, Enterprising and Conventional.
